The Soundproofing Store is one of the largest online retailers of Soundproofing materials in the UK. Set up in 2015 by MD Ian Baker, the company has experienced exceptional growth, year on year since launch.
The soundproofing journey so far
When Ian first set up The Soundproofing Store, he saw a gap in the market for domestic customers who were needing advice and solutions to their noisy neighbour
problems. This remains a key area for the business, although it has also evolved into more specialist areas of soundproofing such as recording studios and band practice rooms. Growth within this area has resulted in the business now encompassing a specialist studio department.
Other areas of growth have also come from the building trade and specifiers market. It became ever more apparent that it wasn’t just domestic customers who required soundproofing advice and products, but also builders and architects who also needed expert advice on new build and refurbishment projects. Especially in relation to complying with Part E Building Regulations - relating to the passage of sound (for properties with a change of use or new builds).
