ProSound™ Reverso SoundMat™

The Reverso SoundMat is a totally unique and specially engineered dual purpose soundproofing mat suitable for both hard or soft floor finishes. A slim and effective floor soundproofing solution designed to reduce unwanted impact and airborne noise, helping you achieve peace and quiet in your home.

Different soundproofing layers of mass coupled with an impact dampening layer are cleverly combined in one easy to install product which greatly improves the soundproofing capabilities of timber floors.

The built in stabilising layer makes the Reverso SoundMat particularly suited to hard floor final finishes, as the majority of all hard floor finishes can be installed on top. This removes the need of a stabilising layer, which reduces time and costs.

Whether you require peace and quiet from noisy neighbours living above or below, or privacy between floors within your own home, then the Reverso SoundMat is an excellent solution.

Floor Soundproofing FAQs

  • How effective is floor soundproofing?

Floor soundproofing will reduce impact noise, airborne noise, or both. All our acoustic floor solutions are designed to exceed the UK Part E Building Regulations for the passage of sound.

Different systems offer different levels of noise reduction depending on the level of noise needed to be blocked, the current construction of the floor and final floor finish.

No soundproofing will offer 100% reduction, however installing soundproofing will dramatically reduce noisy neighbour noise.

*dB results will vary depending on several factors.

Please see our dB blog on why dB results may vary

  • Does floor soundproofing work both ways?

Floor soundproofing will block impact noise (footsteps) travelling from the room above to the room below.

Floor soundproofing can also block airborne noise travelling from below to the room above or from the room above to the room below.

  • Do I need to soundproof the whole floor?

The short answer is YES as soundproofing is like waterproofing and is only as good as the weakest point. (As sound can travel through very small gaps).

If you were to soundproof just part of the floor you would be wasting your money.

  • How thick is floor Soundproofing?

Floor soundproofing varies in thickness from 5mm to 28mm depending on the type and level of soundproofing required. However, our best-selling Reverso SoundMat at only 18mm thick performs exceptionally well against both airborne and impact noise.

Its unique built in stabilising layer also means that in most cases hard floor finishes can be installed directly on top, minimising any further floor height build-up.

  • Do you offer an installation service?

There are two main options for installing our DIY soundproofing solutions:

    • All of our systems have been designed to be DIYable - saving you any unnecessary installation expense
    •  80% of customers install the systems themselves - we've made DIY installation an easy option
    • We supply simple and comprehensive step-by-step installation guides and videos - for fuss free installation

    Using a local tradesperson

    • You're well on your way to noise free living. If installing the system yourself isn't an option, then simply use a local tradesperson
    • We take away any stress of installation by speaking directly to your tradesperson throughout the process
  • Once installed, can I put any type of flooring down?

The Reverso SoundMat is suitable for most final floor finishes. For installation of different floor finishes please see the Reverso SoundMat Installation guide.
