What is the difference between sound absorption and soundproofing?

Soundproofing is trying to stop sound from getting into, or out of a room. E.g. blocking the sound from noisy neighbours. Sound absorption is making the acoustics within a room sound better, by reducing the amount of echo and reverberation.

How does sound absorption work?

ProSound™ Acoustic Ceiling Baffles are high performing, sound absorbing ceiling baffles ideal for acoustic room treatment. They are designed to reduce reverberation and reflection of sound within rooms. By absorbing sound energy, they stop this energy from continuing to bounce around the room helping to reduce reverberation.

Can the acoustic ceiling rafts be customised?

Absolutely. The rafts can be customised by colour and shape. Photos can also be printed on them.

Are acoustic ceiling rafts easy to install?

They are very easy to install and have been developed so that usually anyone can mount them themselves. A comprehensive installation guide can be downloaded from the website and we are also more than happy to answer any questions. If you don't want to install them yourself, a local tradesperson would have no difficulty.

How many rafts will I need?

A competent DIYer can install the rafts themselves by following our detailed installation guide and by watching the installation video.
